Pins pulled on School Room Roof in LCC

Postby timpanogos » Mon Apr 05, 2004 8:07 pm

Just signed up for this sight – so I’m not familiar with the players or the layout – if this should be moved, please do.

There is a thread of discussion going on at RC.com dealing with this, please see

http://www.rockclimbing.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=56810&postdays=0&postorder=asc&topic_view=&start=0

If you know of someone interested in trying to free this roof and/or aid the roof clean – let them know, and please give an update in the RC.com thread above.

Please express any views that you might have on this there also.

Thanks

Chad

Moved to the routes forum.

Brian's comments at rc.com were on the money. Very lame if it is out-and-out theft.

Does anybody know these guys?

Well, here's what the grape-vine says:

The guys that pulled those pins definitely were Andrew Christensen and a guy named Matt aka "cowboy", I believe from Washington.

They were both in LCC that day and had a new hammer.

Apparently they are gathering gear for an upcoming el-cap trip.

oh, also, i witnessed this act of vandalism taking place on the bog boulder on sunday. i only had a moment to capture this one image before i was chased away by a pack of wild drunken teenagers. I think these two were their leaders:

Just talked to andrew and he says that they removed every other pin and the route can still be done with exisiting pins 6 removed 3 broke off.
I Hope so!! For some reason he likes to chop too much and has had problms in the past, He does not seem to care what anybody thinks about it.

Hey, thanks for chattin' with him. I dunno how to convince someone that community consensus is against their actions...but...helps when the community speaks out.

Didn't you just pitch in on the Titan effort? If so, mega thanks!

How 'bout a TR from that effort under the appropriate forum here (moab area er something).

Thanks again...
