I hate people dissecting accidents they weren't involved in - it is perhaps my biggest pet peeve in the world. The whole "I can learn something from this accident" bullshit is nothing but rubbernecking - pretty much every accident that can happen has happened over and over again. The time to discuss accident details is in private over a beer with some friends, or while reading ANAM. it is not something that you should be doing in an online forum in front of a bunch of upset people when the accident is still very fresh. I've seen discussions raking a friend of mine who died in a climbing accident over the coals, and it made me as angry as anything ever has in my life. If you died in a climbing accident, would you want your wife or parents to come across a thread talking about what you did wrong?
I didn't know Chris personally, but my best wishes go out to his friends, family, and partners. This sort of thing is heartwrenching.
