favorite bouldering circuits?

Postby michael_layton » Wed Sep 14, 2011 2:46 pm

I posted this on MP, but figured i might getter a better, or at least funnier answer over here.

When I go bouldering, 90% of the time it's by myself, and without a lot of prior knowledge of the area/boulder...so I've wasted a lot of time on sh*tty problems/landings/etc.

Do any of you have a favorite circuit, or at least favorite problems in the fun V0 to easy V4 range?

thanks,
Mike

In the same camp. The Gate might have the best circuit around. Brighton also has a great circuit by the girl scout camp if you want it colder.

Here are some shorter boulders with around ten problems in that grade range:

-The split boulder at 5 mile
-The boulder on the way to Surprise
-The boulder in the creek below the baby thunder lift at Snowbird
-The trail boulder above the white pine trailhead (wikiboulder)
-The moose boulder at white pine (approach from trailhead)
-The slab near the trail to catherine pass above Alta (vBs & v0s)
-The warmup boulder at the secret garden

White pine north has some good fun easy stuff to circuit. Both the lower and upper sections.

Hidden forest has a fair amount of easy problems located within a short distance of each other. Even more if you count the boulders further up the trail.

For a total list of 50 great problems under V5, look up 200#gorillas posts about it... he's created and posted a list here a couple of different times, and it's a pretty comprehensive list of awesome problems to go do by yourself. Hell, there's still some up there that I have yet to tick off that I'd go do with you since I'm a pussball these days.

Party pit area. Probably my favorite solo spot these days. Lots of tall easy stuff and a few more challenging lines (v3ish with ass cleaving potential). You can go to the Mexican when you're getting bored too...

I don't judge the boulder for being brown, I'm just stating that it is, in fact, brown.
The light out there was unruly yesterday. Gorilla missed the best photoslutting opportunity with the orange sunset, the rain showers and the double rainbow.
The top out was maximum gnar due to mossy jugs turning into puddles though...

Heading to the Mexican this evening.
