ALL of the old 1/4" rawl bolts have been replaced with new stainless steel bolts.
9 protection have been replaced, using the same holes.
1 new added on the runout last pitch.
5 new belay bolts.
Belay on top of the 3rd pitch, with an old artifact.
Looking down the 5th pitch. Les Ellison and Kevin Lockwood are hard at work removing the old bolts. I'm descending next to place the new bolts. Farther down from right to left is the Zion Curtain. Then the bolted belay of Cymbals of the Sun and Butcher Knife (where the green rope is stacked).
Thanks to Mike White & the ASCA for giving us all of the new hardware, and for lending us "a bag of goodies" containing all kinds of tools to make the bolt removal easier.
This is a classic heads up route...great rock, varied climbing...clean, steep face climbing, strenuous roofs, and cracks of all sizes, etc.
