I liked the bit about temple-worthiness....and the "if my jeep goes to Moab, I go" part.....someone's thought of all the angles.

As for the TGR post....maybe it's just me, but I don't like riding in sloppy cement in 50 degree weather. I prefer my powder cold and dry and untracked by ass holes who want California re-created here. If this punter wanted apres-ski maybe he should have checked out Powder Magazine before he decided to go to Alta/Snowbird. I mean, when driving through Cottonwood Heights, was it difficult to tell that there wasn't going to be a big post skiing scene? Hey douchebag, they keep that shit over in Park City!

I just caught this thread. These two lines say it all:

Then I realized it was just because I was fucking lazy . . . I was back at swearing at all the hiking and traversing realizing that in the time it took me to do 1 run at Alt/Bird I could have done 4 in Cali.

In Cali skiing is very social. Everyone is skiing under the chairs and hooting and holering, everybody is basking in the sun as they stand in the lift lines, there is music playing everywhere and people throwing snowballs, Cali is FUN!

This guy is great. I totally see where he's coming from. I love skiing with 1,000 people around me, bras hanging in the trees, the DJ working' it down at the grill, with the smooth mountain people perfecting their tan. I'm safe, fat, comfortable, and entertained. I think this guy would be the perfect embodiment of an Urban Climber/Powder Magazine marriage.

I wish there were a lot more people like him so that I could find untracked lines throughout the Wastach multiple times a week, for weeks on end.
