BTS brought up a good point. While there are a bunch of people at summitpost who have mountain experience, I have found that most all of them over there are 'hikers' who summit peaks and call it 'climbing'.
I've talked with several local hikers and very few of them have any technical alpine experience. Most of them wouldn't even attempt a winter summit. Those who will are definitely the ones who are a bit more hard-core.
