New route on The Cathedral. "Karmic Trace" 5.12
This route is located between "Devil Tree" and "Tainted Word".
Climb a thin dihedral to a horizontal with a fixed KB. Continue up into good cracks, then climb straight up the face past some horizontals which offer good gear. Mantle onto a slab and a good horizontal crack of varying size to set up a belay.
To descend- Scramble right (5.4) to the chains of "Celestial Ascension".
Gear- Bring a set of cams from small to #2 or #3 camalot. Be sure to save two or three cams of varying sizes for the belay.
Good climbing... The Pin that protects the crux, and is totally bomber. When I placed it, it rang nicely. I have fallen on it many times, no movement. The cracks above the crux protect really well.

Spider stick

Postby LUKED » Mon Sep 15, 2008 11:27 am

The thanks go to Mr. Tea. It was his idea, and his dollar. (Stainless steel will bankrupt a fool!) I just belay slaved and ate burgers. Good times hanging out.

Now that Wholesome's route is a trade route, if you're looking for more, there's another new one here.
