SLCA Little Cottonwood Canyon Adopt-A-Crag

Postby Jeff Porucznik » Wed Sep 15, 2010 8:42 pm

Join the SLCA on Saturday, September 25, 2010, as we head back into Little Cottonwood Canyon to keep some of our favorite climbing areas in good condition. We will be working on the Crescent/Coffin/Egg trail along with trash clean-up and some minor trail work at some of the more popular bouldering areas in Little Cottonwood.

Meet us at the Little Cottonwood Park and Ride at 7:30 am, September 25. The SLCA will provide a light breakfast, lunch and a gear giveaway. Please visit http://www.saltlakeclimbers.org/volunteer to sign up. Thanks to lead sponsors Liberty Mountain, Petzl, Black Diamond, Sterling Ropes, The Front, Momentum, Rockreation and the rest of our sponsors for their support. The first 50 people who register (and attend!) will receive free day passes to Rockreation, Momentum and The Front.

Whooo Hooo!!!

For a second I thought we were going to fix the East Gate trail.

That Egg/Crescent Crack trail system is getting close. All the help everyone has given has made a huge difference. It seems like once the trail opened, the Egg, etc got tons more traffic - like it re-opened a classic area.

Where do you live (general area)? I'll pick you up if it's not an hour out of my way.
Although I'm not sure my car can carry a 12d climber without falling apart in awe

I live right off 2200 South State Street. Right down the street from I-80 on off ramps in South Salt Lake.

2200 south State Street. Right beside Wendys. Like an 1/8th mile from I-80 entrance.

I was looking at this today after a recent trip to the south face of peeler buttress. Not sure what would be involved, but I'd be psyched to help out.

Large saw, large pry bars and large amounts of man power. And beer. Bet it would go down in a day, it can't be worse than the landing building in Fergs.
My vote is also for E. Gate next.
