This sucks. When is the funeral?
shame on mike white for thinking cracks shouldn't be bolted in the first place and shame on him for calling it like it is and hurting my feelings.

This is terrible news. I worked with Daryn at Black Diamond and got to know him quite well. Just about a month or so ago, a group of us, including Daryn were up in Ferguson replacing old bolts and cleaning up some old messes. It was Daryn who instigated the project. We was a true climber at heart, and was concerned with access issues and in making the climbing environment a clean and beautiful place to be. He had a great and positive energy, and was friendly to everyone.
I will miss Daryn, this is so terribly shocking.

Never met the guy myself, but interacted quite a bit on a couple of forums. Very nice guy indeed, and always good for a laugh. This is a total shame

It's hard when you lose a mate and there's nothing and no one to blame. No avalanche, no rock fall, just bad luck. But you gotta say, he lived it like there was no tomorrow.

I just got home from Dayrn's good bye party, and I dont know how to express how much he will be missed.

He touched many people and acceped everyone. We should all strive to climb and teach like he did. Life is short-
Try to have as much fun as he did!!

I wish everyone was more like him.

Dayrn we will miss you and your spirit.
