I went on a little hike yesterday in LCC and came across something that concerns me. I found a somewhat elaborate hut with a fireplace, chairs, firestarters, candles and other trash. It was built with dead trees and tarps over the top. There was also an irrigation system to pull water from a nearby runoff stream.
The hut is located about 50 meters from the river, so this could be a real problem for watershed issues. Also, the fact that there is a fireplace that has been used concerns me. Any fire within an enclosed hut like that is asking for trouble. I would be livid if someone burned down little cottonwood, or even part of it.
Does anyone else think this is an abuse of the land in LCC? Does anyone know who is responsible for building this thing? Please post up your comments and opinions. Here are some pics of the hut:
