Re: Mystery routes

The line right of ATF was done by John Steiger this summer. A friend says the climbing gets better the higher you go with a wild stemming section and steeper climbing.
Supposed to be in the low .12 range?

Re: your mp moment of zen...

Every pitch on this climb delivers delicious SPLITTERS!!!!!!!!!!!

blather, then
The headwall splitter is 25 ft of wavy .5s (if it were splitter this would be a 12 pitch)

So which is it?

Re: your mp moment of zen...

I'm not exactly sure how to find them. Dogwood: Park across the street from the dogwood camping area, walk into the camping area, take a left and hike parallel to the road for 2 minutes The slips: If the water is low, park in the pullout on the north side of the canyon before the storm mtn picnic a...

I think it would have been cool to climb this without the bolt. Would have been heady and awesome.

By Boissal
Try it and report back. Skipping the bolt isn't too hard to do... Much harder than just talking about it though.

Re: your mp moment of zen...

That choppinbolts dude looks like a huge troll or a total deuschbag. By choppinBolts Another comfortable climb, thanks to fixed pro. So is it a trad climb then? Maybe the bolts were placed traditionally, but what the heck? There are places for gear along the way. They are spaced out, and there is fa...

Re: your mp moment of zen...

I'm pretty sure I contracted a novel lung condition while cleaning the line. Hopefully it gets repeated before the lichen comes back with a vengeance. Adding a stiff wire brush to the rack might be helpful. Hopefully you enjoy your meal!

Re: your mp moment of zen...

Do you mean the person that sits at home and is critical of volunteers performing much needed trail work on a heavily used, unmaintained trail, or the person that points out that the original poster is being a dick?

Why don't you go up there and see what was done before offering up your option?

Re: Name that route

It involved getting the oar ripped out of my hand at the top of the rapid and getting hit by a 20+foot lateral on the right about 4 seconds later. The boat got airborne from downriver reports. We both popped up down river from the boat next to each other, then almost got pinned on the Rock of Shock...

Re: your mp moment of zen...

From 2010: One guy said: B, Nice route name "Nebulous Squeeze"....will have to keep that one on the back burner. Thanks! And then, (thank God!) there's Alexi: You should. Give them numbers too so you can keep track of how many established lines you've retrobolted and claimed as FAs. Don't ...
