Re: Winter trad climbing in Utah

Thanks for the beta! Climbed Kermit's wall and fell on the .10, then TR'd the .11 next to it and got my butt kicked.. IMO, you'd better be able to hike Kermit's before you try the Dorsal, or even S-Direct. Try Barefoot in Barbados or setup the TR on Thin Slab to the left of Barefoot. (You can scram...

Re: OMG!

I thought who the hell buys a book on indoor climbing when there are already a zillion good books on climbing? Then I read this buyer's comment: I stared climbing about 2 months before getting this book. After reading it my climbing partner noticed how much better my technique was. I felt like I was...

Re: Moving to SLC in a WEEK - need assistance for housing AS

Hey all, Even advice on where to look to live would be helpful! I visited in June and all I can remember is that Cottonwood Heights, Sugarhouse, and Mill Creek were somewhat close to the U....yes? I'd not personally say Mill Creek and especially Cottonwood Heights are close to the U. Not if you are...

Re: traditional utah photography

LCC is awesome Best handcrack for the grade in LCC IMO Yeah, I'll be tarred and feathered when I get back in the States for asking a serious question here, but better than SML (which is pretty darn good.)? I've been meaning to make it up to the Sail. I'll have to add it to the todo list this spring...

Re: traditional utah photography

awesome outtakes guys. please have Andy resize your photos to an intardnet size before he gives em to you. Um...err..those are resized and fit fine on my 11" Notebook. If you are still on dialup and some 800x600 screen, I don't think any size is going to work for you. I'm still on crappy 1.5 M...

Upper Green A. West side. You approach it by scrambling up above Wheels on Fire on the East side and then traverse over. Once on the West side, use the same chimney you scramble/climb to get to Sinsemilla crack. FWM is pretty much straight up from the chimney.

Re: traditional utah photography

dude looks like tag climbing p1 of bushwack. Are you shitting me? Far too few slings to be my rack. Plus I'd never lead Bushwhack. Way too scary and painful. You have to like hand jam and crank on your toes and shit. Besides I've pretty much given up climbing to race this year. Way safer and much l...

Re: your mp moment of zen...

Holy hell! That can't possibly be true. Three years? Guided instructions? Nervous on Steort's ridge? Yikes. Absolutely plausible. Doesn't this happen to you nearly every time you lower someone? I do have one belay experience where I caught someone, I think you could say. I was lowering a climber of...

Re: Trad Partners

Some other NST members need to plan an event. I happen to work on Tuesdays... Does Boissal still have a shirt?!?! Since he probably has no idea what NST is . I smuggled some extra cachaça from Brazil this winter. If it ever stops snowing we'll definitely need to get in a caipirinha/feijoada NST thi...
