Ticks

We ran into the same lizard three days in-a-row on the approach in to the Gargoyle gully... On Sunday, I had to extricate a tick from my side. What is happening out there? Crazy.

Re: scarpa boostic, size 40, new w/o box.

FYI: SCARPA's sizing is a bit closer to what the EU-US conversion might suggest... I'm the sample size, EU42/US 9.0, and I tend to wear most of my SCARPAs in EU41.5, about a half-sze smaller than my normal street shoe. Try 'em on here at IME!!!

Re: Wasatch History

Les' routes are some of the most aesthetic in the range; before being familiar with the location of his many lines in the Ruckman guide, I often spied them from afar... Believing them to be new, I would hurry home--only to discover that on nearly every occasion Les had already been there. What an ey...

Re: Vibes for Shingo!

Greetings, Everyone! My missus and I are here at IHC waiting to be discharged; it's only been four days since I cratered, so I feel extremely fortunate to even still be here, much less going home, given the circumstances. Thank you all for your concern and your continued support, and though it may b...

Re: Touch Up's piton has been removed

For what it's worth, I say replace the pin. It is not our mandate now, or for that matter, in perpetuity, to guarantee climbers' safety. As much as I would hate to hear that someone blew it there and and hurt themselves, something as fundamental as sound gear assessment is--and shall always be--the ...

Re: Wasatch History

Last year, we were curious and so decided to traverse the lower canyon, from the Memorial Day east to the Pawn. It's mind-boggling all the crags Bill Robins got to, especially up high, and--more impressive--the lines he opened, no doubt in good style. Perhaps in the future, we might all agree on how...

Re: WTB. Drill of the power variety

I know of a BOSCH Annihilator in great shape; it belongs to a friend, so fire me a message if you're interested. He's already upgraded and is looking for a good home for the older drill. S

Re: LPC snow conditions

UPDATE: The snow along the meadow is quickly thinning out; it's punchy, even early in the a.m. Not much change since Monday in the cirque--Collin's Highway has melted out a bit, but the first rap station into Pete's Staircase is still buried. Both the ledge at its base, as well as the belay ledge be...

This all seems like too much work. I'll just keep sending 'em your way, Shaft, as I'm sure you've nothing better to do than to upload my pics... Which, by the way, get on it!!! Yours, the Tard

LPC snow conditions

The approach from Corner Canyon/Jacob's Ladder is as pleasant as always; one will first encounter snow in the meadow just after the trail crests the Draper Ridge. http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p628/imeutah/002.jpg It is already possible to see the stream tracing a slight depression through the...

Re: Cinco de Mayo-SCARPA shoe demo-BBQ

Jonathan,
Nearly all these rigs are brand-spankin' new; some of them were worn just once at the Ogden Climbers' Festival indoor demo last week, so I'd say no socks necessary... See you in the afternoon! S
